Our collection of courses for the orientation training of Delaware Personal Assistance Services Agencies - Direct Care Workers is designed to meet the requirements stated in Section 3345-4.0 - Administration of the Delaware Administrative Code.
This collection contains 22 courses, totalling 24 hours of training, covering topics stated in the regulations, including professionalism and ethics, clients’ rights, nutrition and hydration, an overview of the population served, infection control, reporting and documentation, communication skills, body mechanics, ADLs and iADLs, an introduction to assistive technology and safe patient handling, meal preparation, an overview of the emotional and physical problems associated with illness, home safety and management, the reporting of changes in the client’s condition, and confidentiality. For agencies that provide care to persons diagnosed with dementia, this collection also includes three courses on dementia care including, communication strategies in dementia care, the psychosocial, social, and physical needs of people with dementia, and a course on reducing safety risks for people with Alzheimer's disease.
