Our collection of courses for the initial training of Adult Day Care Direct Service Staff is designed to align with the requirements in Section 559.62 - Program Requirements of the Texas Administrative Code.
Texas requires 18 hours of initial training for direct service staff within the first 3 months of employment. This collection contains 16 courses, totalling 18 hours of training, and covers a number of topics including, an overview on working with older adults, professionalism, confidentiality, communication, responding to and reporting elder abuse, basic first aid, infection control, emergency response, assisting with ADLs and iADLs, body mechanics, ambulation and transfers, safe patient handling, observation and reporting, incident reporting, and an introduction to dementia care.
This collection can be used as is, or combined with any of our other courses to create an effective, and easy to understand, initial training program for your Texas-based Direct Service Staff team.
