Our collection of courses for the initial training of Arkansas In-Home Assistants is designed to meet the requirements in Section 20-77-2303 - Training requirement of the Arkansas Administrative Code.
Arkansas requires a minimum of 40 hours of training for In-Home Assistant training, including at least 24 hours classroom training and a minimum of 16 hours of supervised practical training. This collection contains 22 courses, totalling 24.5 hours of training, and covers a number of topics required by Arkansas state regulations including, the role of personal care staff, ethics, patients’ rights, communication, emergency response, infection control, assistance with ADLs and iADLs, oral care, safety and falls prevention, nutrition and hydration, basic housekeeping skills, ambulation and safe transfers, normal range of motion, reporting and documentation, and four hours of dementia care training including, an introduction to dementia care, communication strategies, managing challenging behaviors, and assisting dementia patients with ADLs.
This collection can be used as is, or combined with any of our other courses to create an informative, and easy to understand, initial training program for your Arkansas In Home Assistant team.
